Marina Kaljurand, Chair of the Global Commission on the Security of Cyberspace, visited Charleston, SC to discuss with students, faculty and staff of the Citadel and College of Charleston the future of cybersecurity and war fighting challenges.
A native of Tallinn, Estonia, Kaljurand earned advanced degrees in law from the University of Tartu, Estonia and in International Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. Her prior positions of governmental leadership include service as Estonia’s Ambassador to the United States, to Russia, and to Israel as well as Estonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Kaljurand’s visit is a continuation of the Huge Foundation’s long standing efforts to promote Estonia and its close ties with South Carolina. By promoting student and faculty exchanges as well as visits from distinguished diplomats we hope to bridge the gap between the United States and the rest of the world.
