Huge Scholar Wins Research Award

Lindsey Jones

Lindsey Jones, a Nebraska Wesleyan University junior biochemistry major and Huge Foundation Scholar was selected to present her research at the West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conference in Los Angeles. Lindsey received an award for “top oral presentation” in the genetics category. Her research presentation was titled, “Development of a system to deplete Sir2 in order to understand its role in maintaining silent chromatin at the ribosomal DNA locus in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.” In her research, Lindsey depleted a protein from cells to understand its role in genetic silencing in a special area of DNA.

This is the second year in a row that Lindsey has received the “top oral presentation” award.

    You go girl !!! I have great faith that in the course of your science/reserch career you will be successful in isolating/silencing a couple of bad ass gene sequences and make human kind the better for it. Always so proud of your commitment and focus.
