A senior at Nebraska Wesley University, Ben Wiese is a Biology major, minoring in Chemistry and Spanish. He recently sat down with us to share his experiences at Nebraska Wesleyan University as a Huge scholar.
For Ben, his Huge Scholarship did more than just pay for four years of tuition, room, board and other education-related expenses; it helped forge lifelong relationships with Harry and Reba Huge – and created opportunities he had only dreamed about.
Read on for a few of our favorite sound bites.
The Scholarship Interview
“The interview was great. They were really easy to talk to, and I hit it off with Harry and Jim. They were already interested in my life, even though they didn’t know if they’d choose me for the scholarship.”
On His Internship
“Harry and Reba helped me get an internship at IHV, The Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, where I had the chance to do some incredible research and meet some incredible people. It’s just propelled me to places I didn’t think I’d get a chance to go.”
On The Bond with Harry and Reba
“I love the fact that are interested in me, not just the academics. They want to know how things are going. They want to know what my plans are beyond this.”
“I wouldn’t be at Wesleyan if it wasn’t for them. I want to thank them for the four years they’ve given me here and to experience what Wesleyan is about.”
Wesleyan On The Rise
“Wesleyan is so much more than some small school in Nebraska; it’s international, largely because of Harry and Reba.”
