The Huge Foundation, Marina Kaljurand, Estonia Ambassador to the U.S. (pictured above), and The Embassy of Estonia are proud to help sponsor a free musical event, Estonia in Concert: The Music of Arvo Pärt to the Kennedy Center on May 27, 2014. Thanks to the generous support of the Ministry of Culture of Estonia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Estonian organizations, Honorary Consuls and individual US donors, this once-in-a-lifetime concert brings together the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra to perform the works of Maestro Arvo Pärt, Estonia’s most famous composer.
Led by Grammy Award winning conductor Tõnu Kaljuste, the free concert will be the highlight of Estonian Culture in Washington and a main event in the European Month of Culture Festival by the Delegation of the European Union to the U.S. Special guests at the concert include President of the Republic of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves and Marina Kaljurand, Estonia Ambassador to the US.
