Cabela’s and Harry and Reba Huge Foundation Scholarships Awarded
Four Nebraska students receive scholarships of $10,000
SIDNEY, Neb. (June *, 2017) – Cabela’s and the Harry and Reba Huge Foundation have granted four young Nebraska women each with a $10,000 Women in Leadership Scholarship. The students – Jenna Johnson of Hooper, Tanner Stalsberg of Milford, Karsen Stull of Bridgeport, and Claira Thede of Palmer – were selected to receive the scholarships from more than 400 applicants.
The Women in Leadership Scholarships are offered by Cabela’s and Harry and Reba Huge Foundation as part of an initiative by leaders within Cabela’s, Cabela’s CLUB and the Huge Foundation to encourage young women who exhibit leadership qualities to become tomorrow’s leaders. This is the fifth year Cabela’s has partnered with the Harry and Reba Huge Foundation to issue these scholarships.
Not only will the students receive $10,000 — $2,500 a year for four years — they also will have opportunities to intern with Cabela’s and receive mentoring from women in leadership positions with the company.
“These four young women already have demonstrated the capacity for extraordinary accomplishments, and we are excited to provide support for their higher education goals,” said Jack Siemsen, CEO of the Harry and Reba Huge Foundation. “Our partnership with Cabela’s provides these scholars with unprecedented opportunities for mentoring and career and education counseling through both the Huge Foundation and Cabela’s.”
Cabela’s and Harry and Reba Huge Foundation Women in Leadership will again be offered to young women graduating from Nebraska high schools next year. The 2018 application will be made available in the fall through The Harry and Reba Huge Foundation website (www.thehugefoundation.org) and through the Nebraska Education Quest/ScholarshipQuest website (www.educationquest.org).
